SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK

The Plot

A creepy neighbour is arousing suspicion, but he's not up to anything sinister. As it turns out, it was all a big misunderstanding. I know, it sounds like every episode of SCOOBY-DOO ever made.

In this film, it's not made clear whether 'Zeus' is able to communicate telepathically with people. He can communicate with all other animals, but with human beings, it appears there is only partial success.

Like in that show BABY TALK (1991), you'd see a baby stare off into space, and then you'd hear Tony Danza's voice. Which leaves many unanswered questions. Is that the infant's inner monologue? How did George Clooney sign off on this. Did executives think a TV version of 'LOOK WHO'S TALKING?' would be successful?

Flying Through The Air In Pantyhose.

This is the fourth reincarnation of 'THE DOG WHO SAVED CHRISTMAS'. The original 'THE DOG WHO SAVED CHRISTMAS' has many accolades which include the much coveted, 'BEST USE OF DEAN CAIN' award in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

This time, 'Zeus' isn't played by Mario Lopez. Joey Lawrence does the voice. After Lawrence's short-lived stint as a professional musician. I figured he'd never get voice-over work...ever.  Slater was better suited to do the voice of an upbeat, sociable dog. I'll overlook this flaw since two characters from BLOSSOM are in this movie.

'Booger' from REVENGE OF THE NERDS (1984) has a small role in this. Here he plays an at-home website developer. I don't know, I thought he was a lawyer, not a website developer. No, wait, I'm confusing the character with the actor who portrays the character. The real actor is just probably severely depressed.

Let us all give a round of a paws for this Halloween trick.

Final Verdict: 15 out of 100

Sidenote: You might want to set your TIVO to record the upcoming THE DOG WHO SAVED THE HOLIDAYS. Starring the same people in this movie.
